Lazy Days of Summer---HIJACKED

Whenever I think of summer, I think of totally fabulous lazy days! I wonder why I think of this?? I don't think I have had one of those summers since I was 10 and I watched way to many episodes of "The Love Boat". I really thought that this summer was going to be that summer. I was going to sew for AnnaKate, clean out closets, catch up on scrapbooking and visit the Pickens Flea Market each Wednesday. I was also going to have lazy time in the backyard with AnnaKate in the baby pool, go out to lunch, have playdates with AnnaKate's friends and even read a good book. Hmmm....none of these things have happened. I feel that my "lazy" summer has been hijacked!! But I guess, I am the only one to blame. I way overfill my calendar and create things to do when I find a void...and you know what-I like it that way! So I guess I need to rethink my view of summer and pack away the ideas of having too much time on my hands. Crazy hectic days filled with errands, trips to visit fabulous friends, vacations with family, craft projects left unfinished and closets way too overfilled-now that's summer!

What will you not do this summer?

I will not plan an entire year of science plans and amazing new classroom friendly experiments that perfectly match the standards! - Why are my expectations WAY too high for summer? I like to be on the go too much to sit still for too long. Enjoy your summer. Be with friends- even at night. Those closets will get cleaned eventually.

I don't know exactly what I would have in mind for NOT doing! I tend to plan for 3,000 things and get 5 done, so I pretty much know to discount the other 2,995! You are a busybee and you wouldn't have it any other way! =)

I'm right there with you and have been complaining about this same thing all summer! But, it did slow down enough for me to clean my 3 bathrooms this morning - not my favorite summer activity but necessary nonetheless. :)

Hope you guys are doing well and that AnnaKate is having a great time this summer!

I will not catch up with my scrapbooking this summer-there's just no way, as much as I would like to be "current" with them. BUT the good news is, I did get to spend most of the day on Tuesday scrappin' and so I did make some progress which was very nice!! The only way I got to do that is b/c Weston is with my Mom & Dad this week. :)
