AnnaKate’s school participates in the Special Olympics Young Athletes Program. I always very feel honored when I get to go. It was a perfect spring day to celebrate all these athletes and their accomplishments. Their moto says it all:
Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.
The parade of athletes
See anyone you know?
My mom and my sweet friend, Chappell, and her little girl, Sophie, came too.
Let the games begin!
A victory hug
Fun times!
She is a winner!
AnnaKate got to visit with one of my inclusion students from my school, it was the highlight of both of the girls’ day!

Billy and I married in 1998 after dating for 6 years. In 2006 we adopted AnnaKate. We were lucky enough to meet her birth mother and take her home from the hospital. At about 4 months old, AnnaKate was diagnosed with Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome. Through all of AnnaKate's struggles and delays she surprises and delights us daily! Thanks for marking this spot and coming back often to check in on us.
