Big News..

Nothing can make me happier than a great report from one of AnnaKate's therapists. Today I got a text from AnnaKate's speech pathologist,

"Guess who said bus, bye bye, Lissa (therapists nickname), shhh, thank you and tons of sounds. This is not a joke, she is really starting to talk!"

I have been hearing lots of new sounds and word approximations too, but I always don't believe it until someone else says they hear it too.

We are thrilled beyond words to see progress. I can't thank Melissa, her speech pathologist, enough! She has had AnnaKate since she was one and we just LOVE her!

Whoohoo! You know, Emma's speech took off around age 3 or 4. I found a journal entry where I had written that all I wanted was for her to be able to tell me if she was hungry or thirsty or hurting. And to hear her say "Mama" and "I love you." At the time, it seemed impossible, but now it is a normal part of our day.

Now (she'll be 7 in February), I look forward to her being able to have a conversation with me - to tell me about her day at school or about a trip to her grandparents. I'm sure it will happen someday.

So, when are we getting our girls together?? We'll be home most of Christmas! Let's try to do it!
