Around our house progress is usually made in baby steps...but not today! AnnaKate tried out her new swimmies last week and seemed ok with them. Today when we put her in the pool with her swimmies she whined and cried a little because it was hard work staying afloat. The second time we got in the water it clicked! She started kicking her feet and moving her arms. She seemed to get the idea of righting herself when she started floating back and sidways. She loved it and even pushed our arms away when we tried to help her. We are so proud of our little fish! I can't wait to see what she does tomorrow.
Billy and I married in 1998 after dating for 6 years. In 2006 we adopted AnnaKate. We were lucky enough to meet her birth mother and take her home from the hospital. At about 4 months old, AnnaKate was diagnosed with Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome. Through all of AnnaKate's struggles and delays she surprises and delights us daily! Thanks for marking this spot and coming back often to check in on us.

I am so glad that she loves her new floatie!! I know that Will's has really given him confidence in the water. He loves it too!

That's SOOOOOOOOOOOO awesome!! I can't wait to play in the water with her. And you know Frank is going to have a ball swimming around with her! :)

WOW! you weren't kidding when you said you have a fish!! I looked for those floaties here but I can't find them!! AAAhhh, I should have bought it when I was in Florida!!!
