Well, the tonsillectomy is over and recovery has begun. My blogging friends had warned me that this was the tough part...and they were right! No anesthesia or breathing tube issues related to RTS and that is what is most important! Miss AK is such a good child and has done really well for this type of procedure but it has been a rough day. She is really cranky (who wouldn't be...) and not easily soothed. Makes me reminiscent of the baby days and I personally did not need to remember those days! :) She has watched way too much Maisy and eaten lots of yogurt and pudding...but I guess that is what recovery is about. She is sleeping soundly now and I hope that it will continue through the night. Hopefully we will be home by lunch tomorrow.
Enjoy the pictures. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers!

You do what you have to do in times like these...my question is "how are Mommy and Daddy doing?" It's been a long day for them too.
She looks so small in that little bed! I'm so glad everything went well. You should not worry one second about her watching too much Maisy-she is only two and recovering from surgery, whatever makes her happy and restful!
So glad to hear AnnaKate is doing well. I have been thinking about you all today. Hugs from Noah.
my sweet little AK! I hope she feels like new in the morning!
I had to hop over to your blog to see if you had an update! So glad to hear that things are going pretty well. I love the last picture of her with both passies in hand, watching Maisy - she looks like she is on her way to sleepy land! Keep us posted...
I'm glad it went well! I hope you're all home soon!
Oh sweet little girl! I am glad that all went well with the surgery. I will be praying for a fast recovery!
I love that she has a bow in her hair even in recovery! LOVE IT! Im glad she is doing ok, and Maisy seems to do the trick. Check this off your list, you are done, and up hill from here.
We have been thinking a lot about you guys! Taylor is really missing his buddy, and he hopes she feels better soon. She is such a trooper! Let us know if you need anything.

So glad it went well! I love the picture of your husband holding her...so sweet.
Max got his tonsils out 2 years ago and we ended up in the ICU that night and for 2 days afterwards...fluid got into his lungs...NICE. So, getting your tonsils out isn't always a walk in the park! :)
wow she looks so much better than Austin did after his surgery. He had his tonsils and adenoids removed so I don't know if that makes a difference though! Austin's cheeks were swollen, his mouth was dry and cracked, and he constantly had to have mucus suctioned out of his mouth. They even kept him on an IV for 18 hours!
Well done AnnaKate for being such a brave person. May her recovery go well.
