It was just nice family time. We shopped in Black Mountain and Asheville and even managed to sneak in a visit with Billy's sister.

We came home to this beauty in our yard. I love peonies so much and this one is very special. It is from Billy's family farm. It is quite possibly the prettiest most wonderful smelling flower ever! (right Anna!)
What did you do this weekend?
Billy and I married in 1998 after dating for 6 years. In 2006 we adopted AnnaKate. We were lucky enough to meet her birth mother and take her home from the hospital. At about 4 months old, AnnaKate was diagnosed with Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome. Through all of AnnaKate's struggles and delays she surprises and delights us daily! Thanks for marking this spot and coming back often to check in on us.

I hear ya on the days getting busier and busier! With Bob's school year coming to an end, Weston's baseball and soccer games, and my brothers wedding just 2 weeks away, there seems to be VERY LITTLE spare time! The mountain trip looks like it was a perfect getaway to relax in between the current, crazy schedule you have now, too. Looking forward to a time soon when our family can enjoy a break from our crazy schedule...until then, it's go, go go! :)

Right. Those flowers are seriously amazing. I don't know how I lived for so long without knowing about them! I might have an unhealthy obsession...

What a bucolic weekend! BTW, I love love love peonies. It's one of the downsides of living in a warm climate...can't grow peonies.
