Today I am so thankful. I truly have a wonderful and rich life with so much more than I could ever ask for. I have a wonderful family and amazing friends.

Billy and I married in 1998 after dating for 6 years. In 2006 we adopted AnnaKate. We were lucky enough to meet her birth mother and take her home from the hospital. At about 4 months old, AnnaKate was diagnosed with Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome. Through all of AnnaKate's struggles and delays she surprises and delights us daily! Thanks for marking this spot and coming back often to check in on us.

P.S. Ever since I spoke with you last week about changing doctors and you said she was treating the disorder not the child I have felt such relief. You helped put words to exactly what I was feeling. I'm thankful for you!

I am thankful for AnnaKate. She was a cute name on a list with a diagnosis beside it. She is so much more than that to me now. She is a sweet little girl that always makes me smile. Her laugh is contagious. I am so glad that I met your family.
